GETTING MARRIED IN CABO SAN LUCAS Legal Requirements for getting married in Mexico: All documents except tourist visas should be submitted well in advance of the wedding, since they must be translated into Spanish. Civil weddings are performed in Spanish by a judge and are legal worldwide.
This is what you will need:
• Copies of tourist visas (you'll get these on the plane)
• Copies of birth certificates
• Copies of divorce judgments, if applicable (It is necessary to be divorced for one year before being married in Mexico)
• Results of blood tests done in Mexico after your arrival to show your blood type and VDRL exam results
• Four (4) witnesses over the age of 18 years old with photo identification
• Copies of adoption papers or any document that justifies any change in your last names. (if applicable)
