ECOTOURS AND SIGHTSEEING LOS CABOS
Exploring nature and the ecology of Los Cabos is a great way to spend part of your vacation and there are a number of providers who make it easy to do so. Experience whale watching, desert and mountain hiking and mountain biking, ultra light plane tours, kayaking tours and more. Whatever eco-tour you take, you're bound to come away with lifelong memories.

ECOTOURS INTO BAJA'S INTERIOR
Baja Sur has another side that doesn't involve the ocean. Spectacular
mountains rise just a few miles into the interior and the terrain
ranges from desert and oases to mountains and clear running streams
surrounded by forests of pine. There are many ways to explore the
beauty of Los Cabos' other wild side. Horseback rides, ATV
tours, even Jeep and Hummer safaries.

Discover working ranches that haven't changed much over hundreds of years, lush forests, waterfalls and hot springs. Venture into protected areas of wilderness where myriad plant and animal species amaze at every turn. Experienced and knowledgeable local guides and ranch owners provide personalized guided tours teaching the history of both the habitat and the peoples who lived there long ago and those that still inhabit the area.

WHALE WATCHING & OCEAN TOURS
Cabo San Lucas gets it's fair share of press coverage whenever stars like Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta and Howard Stern step off their private jets and venture off to places like the One and Only Palmilla and Las Ventanas al Paraiso. But come wintertime, one particular VIP takes center stage as the star of the show - the Pacific Gray Whale.Whale watching takes place in Cabo from December through March when thousands of Pacifc Gray Whales make their way south from the Bering Sea and points north.
Whale watching tours are easily arranged for groups large or small on either private charters or tours operated by commercial fleets. There's more to see than whales, too. Porpoise, rays, sea turtles and birds provide another show altogether. Conservation minded tours into sea turtle sanctuaries give you the chance to help newly hatched turtles find their way safely to the sea thereby increasing survival rates for this threatened species.

THE SAN JOSE ESTUARY
The San Jose
Estuary is greatly reduced in size since Hurricane Marty devastated
it years ago. While as much as 80% of the habitat was lost, the
estuary still provides sanctuary to dozens of bird species, fish
and other animal life. Located just north of the Hotel Zone in San
Jose del Cabo, there are several access points that allow you to
explore the entire area from all sides. Guided horseback tours are
available here as well.

One particular bird you'll observe in the estuary is the Osprey. Eagle-like and an aggressive hunter, the spectacle of a free-fall dive from hundreds of feet is only surpassed by the grace with which the Osprey plucks it's prey from the water. In addition to the Osprey, visitors encounter Ibis, Egrets, ducks of all kinds, Cardinals… literally too many to count or recall. The lush landscapes, glorious sunrises and tranquility of the environment makes the San Jose Estuary a must-do day trip and don't forget your cameras!

CABO'S OTHER WILD SIDE

countryside and mountains. Cabo's Best took part in a Jeep Safari
with Baja Wild and found out one thing, we want to do it again!
Guided by a local expert we traveled through the San Jose riverbed,
into the small town of Santiago, through a natural oasis and up
